Harry —
Below are photos of the variations I have from the La Montagne Variable Edition (EV) of prints. Each one is unique, they all use the same underlying drypoint image but each plate has been inked and worked differently. They are single-layer, multi-color prints. The various colors of ink were applied all at the same time and the resulting plate printed.
All of the images themselves are 8 x 10, you can see the plate mark that describes the image area.
Some were printed on paper roughly 11 x 13 and some were printed on larger sheets. It is difficult to get a true representation of the color of the paper and even to have the paper appear to match in different images printed on the same paper.
If you see variations that interest you I am happy to send them to you for you to see and compare in the flesh. You can then return what you do not select back to me. Also if you like one of the images on the larger sheets it could be torn down to a size you prefer. Being able to work back and forth virtually is quite wonderful but I always offer the caveat that you have to be happy with the physical print when you see it.
EV 2 | 13 x 11 | Magnani Pescia Cream paper
EV 3 | 12.5 x 10.5 | Magnani Pescia Cream paper
EV 4 | 13 x 11 | Magnani Pescia Cream paper
EV 5 | 13 x 11 | Magnani Pescia Bright White paper
EV 6 | 13 x 11 | white watercolor paper I think
These next ones were printed on larger sheets of paper. I photographed them for you to see, cropping in on the image not showing the entire sheet. If one of these is your preference it could be torn down to size to your liking.
EV 7 | on a white Japanese gampi paper, 23 x 18
EV 8 | Fabriano Rosapina White, 27 x 19
EV 1 | Fabriano Rosapina White, 27 x 19
at some pointI was considering framing this one which is why you can see the edition, title and signature in the image
Thank you for your interest in this image and your kind comments regarding my work. Let me know what you think . . .
