April 2022. I've been pleased to have paintings exhibited in several juried shows this year — in Florida, California, and Maryland — and thought to share them with you . . .

Nighttime Daffodils, is included in the Southern Watercolor Society 45th Annual Juried Exhibition at Art Center Manatee in Bradenton, Florida. Every year I look forward to bringing home daffodil stems from the market, they usher in spring . . .

Holding Still, is included in the 13th Biennial National Art Exhibition at the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda, Florida. It was selected for exhibition by juror Dean Mitchell, who also, to my delighted astonishment, awarded it an Excellence Award commenting, "There is a lovely gestural quality to this; the viewer is piercing into a private space. There's a complexity of composition and a delicacy to the brushwoork". That Holding Still, is a painting I did of my late husband, Jim, adds to my pleasure.

Canal View, is included in Art Center Sarasota Annual Members Exhibition. I happened upon this lovely view one day and managed to return more than once for some plein air painting. This is one of the resulting paintings.

My painting, The House Next Door, was included in
the 52nd Annual California Watercolor Society juried exhibition. The exhibition ran from January 8 to March 12 at the Huntington Gallery at the Firehouse Arts Center in Pleasanton, California.
I painted it en plein air on an afternoon when the light on the house and through the trees was beautiful to behold.

Leaping Greenly,
a watercolor
monotype, was juried into the Maryland Federation of Art, Art on Paper,
exhibition, March 17–April 9, 2022. I painted the plate en plein air on the grounds of the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida. Somehow, through some alchemy in the printing, the energy of the day was transmitted from the painting on the plate to the printed paper.
